Customer Spotlight: John and Linda Sichenze
Hello, we are John and Linda Sichenze and live in Virginia.
We love the beauty of the Virginia countryside and have camped all around the Mid-Atlantic states in our Foretravel. We always get compliments on the coach and people are shocked it is a 2001. Linda tent-camped her entire life, moving up to a pop-up camper, while my experiences were more along the lines of a 34 foot sailboat in the harbor at Annapolis. We worked so many hours we decided to sell the sailboat, and when we looked for a camper, it was her experiences we leaned on. At that time we were traveling extensively to help very ill relatives and had two small dogs; it was sometimes hard to find a hotel in the Midwest that would take us. We started the search thinking we would buy a truck camper that would fit our Super Duty pickup. Have you seen how small they are? Where would we sit? So we shopped for a tag-along trailer and decided that it would be perfect, since after all we had the truck. Then we realized there was no generator and the pups would not have a place to stay if we did not have power. That led us to look at 5th wheels big enough to carry a generator; now we were up into the 30 foot plus range.
It was an education when we started shopping those. We went to RV shows and dealers up and down the East Coast and across the Midwest. Then we went to a dealer in MD who sat us down and said, “I have listened to you and am going to say, I have nothing to sell you but you want a motorhome.” That started a whole new search and learning curve. Linda came across an article that showed a Foretravel traveling in Mexico that was hit from behind and they tumbled down a steep embankment yet were still in one piece — they walked away from what had to be a fatal accident!
I had seen many motorhomes that were picked up by front end loaders in pieces in the past so I was sold. We started looking at Foretravels and bought our first one in late ‘01 and took delivery in March of ‘02. We loved that 34’ U270 coach that fit in our 35’ driveway. We kept it till we moved and bought a friend’s 36’ U320 foot for that extra room, beautiful woodwork and the Aquahot.
We chose MOT to sell our beloved U270 and David sent a driver up to bring it down to TX from VA and and within a month it was sold. We began using MOT for service on our newto-us coach and continue to this day. When we were looking for another coach, possibly a new Foretravel, Tyle Fore said he had just what we were looking for coming in on trade and they could remodel it to be like a new one. That coach started MOT’s adventure in remodel — we were their first remodel coach. We did the entire coach front to back. New wood floor up front, new carpet, electric front blinds, electric black out 2121 knows what MOT will bring in... blinds in the bedroom boxed in cherry wood, ceiling fan and headboard in the bedroom, and new couches and dining area.
We also totally replaced the shower with new Corian and made a matching dining table. We added antennas on the roof for a wifi booster and XM radio. The headlights were upgraded at purchase and give the outside a great look. We have traveled well over 300,000 miles in our three Foretravel coaches and this one has 184,000 miles. We love to travel to new places and see the sights as well as use it to visit family across the country. We have referred friends we meet to MOT and to the joys of Foretravel ownership. We met one couple in Baltimore while John was undergoing radiation treatments and they were so impressed by our nine week stay in our motorhome that they called down to MOT and bought a coach sight unseen and are out traveling as well.
Our coach has become our home away from home with the remodeling done to make it fit our lifestyle and travel style. We always say that we have been treated as family here at MOT and we know that if we have any concerns or issues, they will bend over backwards to help. We love our stay here when we come for service, our Texas vacation, as we get to greet old friends and make some new ones as well. We have traveled and have hit all the states but Maine, Vermont, North Dakota, California and Oregon.
We have visited the big sites and the small from Yellowstone to Spillville, Iowa to look at the Grandfather Clocks. We stay in rest areas, truck stops and campgrounds of all types. We love to travel and take our pups with us as well and the coach allows that with ease. Our Foretravel coaches have changed our lives. Who could have imagined living in 272 square feet and loving it, yearning for it, vacationing in it? And our Foretravel was a blessing when John underwent radiation and we lived in it for nine weeks. No other patient had such comfort and touches of home. Will we buy another? Who knows what MOT will bring in.
