What to keep in mind when you visit your first campsite
Are you new to RV camping? Here’s how to be a good campground neighbor. There are two questions you should ask yourself when you visit every campground:
- What are this campgrounds rules? The rules are generally posted online, at the front office, or posted on signs when you drive in.
- What would I like other campers to do? Remember the golden rule: don't be too loud, keep campsite clean, don't block the roadways, etc.
What to take care of first
When you pull into the campground or state park there are a few things you may want to care of:
- Check into the office (if there is one on site)
- Drive your RV into the Campsite
- Level and stabilize the RV
- Secure wheels
- Set up lawn chairs and enjoy your stay
A few other things to keep in mind
- Avoid the campsite sprawl (spreading your belongings everywhere)
- Keep noise to a minimum
- Be responsible for your pets
- Check out on time (be considerate to other campers)
- Follow any special rules for utility hook ups
- Don’t block roadways, it’s a safety issue
- Keep your campsite clean (clean out any fire pits you use, don’t leave trash out, etc.)
